ASHIATSU MASSAGE

Houston, Texas

Using different strokes with pressure of the feet on  strategic points along the muscles of the back, I am creating a push-pull-pumping effect on the inter-vertebral disc space.  I am basically elongating the spine.

The natural pulling & pushing done with the feet is so much deeper than what the hands can do that it restores vertebral joints to their physiological relationship of motion.  In short...it realigns the spine.

The therapist body weight is used to press & relax the muscles.  The massage is done mainly with the  heel & instep of the foot & sometimes the toes are used.   The benefit of Ashiatsu is that after a few treatments it will improve the client's posture & movement while relieving pain, improving bodily functions, and creating a state of well being.

Japanese massage for physical and energy balance

Shiatsu treatment enhances and promotes general good health. The word Shiatsu is Japanese and means fingerpressure. Shiatsu is none-invasive, only uses finger pressure to stimulate life energy “ki” within the body; thumbs, fingers and palms, are applied to specific areas , also called meridians, and acupressure points of the body, correcting internal dysfunctions, promoting and keeping the health and treating specific illnesses.

Shiatsu can help the following conditions:

• back pain

• headaches, migraines

• whiplash injuries and neck stiffness

• joint pain and reduced mobility

• menstrual problems

• digestive problems

• asthmatic symptoms

• sports injuries

• depression

• stress

• poor circulation

What to expect in a session

Each session lasts approximately one hour. The first session will take a bit longer, since I will take a detailed case history to develop a complete picture of your health.

I do the treatment with the help of essential oils & the Shiatsu table and clothes need to be removed. Following a treatment, you may feel more energetic, yet relaxed.

Guidelines for receiving Shiatsu

Please bring or wear loose, warm, comfortable clothing, preferably cotton, e.g. sweatshirt, tracksuit trousers and cotton socks.

Do not eat heavily in the two hours prior to treatment.

Do not drink alcohol before or after treatment.

After treatment you will receive a cup of Bancha Tea to help smooth the flow of changes through the system.

If at all possible avoid strenuous or stressful activities after your session.
